With "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" set to release in June, several new LEGO sets from the "Indiana Jones series" have recently been unveiled (though the image quality wasn't high). Thanks to the clear official images released by LEGOHungary on their official Facebook page, we can now take a closer look at the '77015 Temple of the Golden Idol' (tentative translation), from the classic action-adventure masterpiece "Raiders of the Lost Ark"!
This set is a medium-sized play scene built from 1545 pieces, designed based on the classic opening scene of the "Raiders of the Lost Ark" film: the temple in Peru housing the Golden Idol. You can see the room displaying the Golden Idol, the massive pit that requires swinging on a vine to cross, the giant rolling boulder's passage... these iconic elements are all present. The inclusion of plant details and stone statue decorations reflecting local beliefs is also excellent. In addition to allowing the boulder to drop, turning the knob on the base can also trigger mechanisms for the stone door, the Golden Idol, the vine, and more! Furthermore, this scene incorporates a "Raiders of the Lost Ark" movie-themed display base, featuring the movie LOGO and classic lines from Indy and Satipo (stickers).
The minifigures include a new version of 'Indiana Jones', Indy's archaeological rival 'René Belloq', the guide Satipo, and a Hovitos tribesman hired by Belloq to capture Indy.
