The robot-themed poseable complete model series "ROBOT魂 ver. A.N.I.M.E.", released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, is set to launch its latest product, "Duel Gundam," on March 25, 2023. Official unboxing photos and detailed explanations have been released ahead of its sale!
This product is based on the GAT-X102 Duel Gundam, one of the GAT series mobile suits from the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED." In the story, it was secretly developed by the Atlantic Federation, then successfully stolen by the Z.A.F.T. military in Heliopolis and piloted by elite pilot Yzak Joule. As the earliest developed of the initial five units, it did not possess particularly outstanding performance compared to the other four Gundams. Its development objective was close-quarters combat with Z.A.F.T. mobile suits. In addition to its PS armor, which effectively resists solid projectile attacks, it could also utilize most Earth Alliance general-purpose weapons, equipped with a high-energy beam rifle with a grenade launcher, an anti-beam shield, a beam saber, and other armaments.
The "ROBOT魂 Duel Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E." features a refined and sharp design that faithfully recreates its anime appearance, highly flexible articulation to recreate classic scenes from the anime, and a rich array of armaments and effects to reproduce famous battle sequences.
The armament accessories are led by the 350mm "Gae Bulg" electromagnetic bazooka, a weapon that the Duel Gundam was unable to use in the series. It includes various interchangeable hand parts, a high-energy beam rifle, an anti-beam shield, a beam saber, and four thruster effect parts for the backpack, beam firing and grenade launching effects for the beam rifle, and beam blade effects for the beam saber.
The 350mm "Gae Bulg" electromagnetic bazooka can be posed in a cool, over-the-shoulder firing stance.
The beam rifle can be equipped with beam firing effects on the top and grenade launching effects on the bottom.
The shield can be mounted on the rear skirt armor using a dedicated part.
The beam rifle can also be mounted on the side skirt armor using a dedicated part.
The Duel Gundam, like the Strike Gundam, features a "swinging lower leg" mechanism, allowing for fine adjustments to leg poses to recreate dynamic action compositions reminiscent of anime scenes.
This product can be linked with the separately sold "Strike Gundam." In addition to using the curved beam saber blade included with the Strike Gundam, this product also includes an effect part for the "Armor Schneider" combat knife used by the Strike Gundam.
This effect is composed of three parts: a dedicated hand, a spark effect part, and a clear stand. The clear stand allows the hand and spark to be fixed in the gap at the Duel Gundam's waist, and by connecting it to the Strike Gundam's main body, the famous scene of being stabbed in the abdomen can be recreated!
