LEGO has recently begun to unveil its lineup of sets expected to be released this summer, and the content is truly exciting, featuring the debut of the brand-new original series "DREAMZzz"! This article will provide product information for a total of six new sets: 40657, 71453~71455, and 71469.
LEGO's "DREAMZzz" is an original theme that took five years to develop, with approximately 23,000 children and 7,000 consumers participating in research and surveys. Over these five years, Tommy Andreasen and Tommy Kalmar of the LEGO Group delved deep into the study of "dreams" and "sleep," and the final result is this DREAMZzz LEGO series, which can present two worlds: "waking reality" and "fantastical dreams"! The main storyline tells of characters like "Izzie" and "Mateo" embarking on a series of extraordinary adventures in the "Dream Realm," using their imagination to defeat the "Nightmare King"; the LEGO Group also hopes that this set of bricks will help children subconsciously overcome the problem of having nightmares.
Tommy Andreasen and Tommy Kalmar are also the showrunners for "LEGO Ninjago."
It's worth noting that "LEGO DREAMZzz" has also produced an animation to allow players to further immerse themselves in this fantastical world and deeply understand each character. It is scheduled to premiere on LEGO's official YouTube channel on May 15, 2023, with a total of ten episodes; this wave of LEGO sets can be broadly divided into three categories: vehicles, buildings, and robots. However, for continuity in numbering, we will divide them into PART.1 and PART.2.
Among these six products, I believe we can see many design elements from the "Ninjago" and "Nexo Knights" series. The color scheme also brings to mind the ghost-filled "Hidden Side" theme. Special features include robots built with abundant curved tubular parts, a style that can be described as distinct from previous themes! The Tree House (set 71461) has a colorful, bold, and versatile character, while the "Nightmare Shark Ship," which can freely transform into a flying ship or a vehicle, is a very attractive villain's battleship. It has the most pieces in the DREAMZzz series so far, and its appearance is incredibly impressive!
