Japanese model manufacturer Sentinel's popular alloy articulated figure series "RIOBOT" has announced its latest product, "L-Gaim," from the classic robot anime "Heavy Metal L-Gaim," scheduled for release in July 2024.
The L-Gaim is the Heavy Metal piloted by the protagonist, Daba Myroad. Daba's true identity is Kamen Myroad, the sole survivor of the Yaman Clan, which was destroyed by the Poseidal Army. To seize the opportunity to defeat the tyrannical dictator Oldna Poseidal and restore the Yaman Clan, Daba's foster father modified and disguised the Yaman Clan's A-class Heavy Metal, Galum No. 21, into the pure white armored L-Gaim. Equipped with powerful armaments such as sabers and power launchers, it became a formidable main combat force after Daba joined the rebel army.
The "RIOBOT L-Gaim" is based on the GK model created by sculptor TAKANORI (RED FOX) and has been re-commercialized as an an alloy articulated figure with a total height of approximately 19 cm, under his thorough supervision. Compared to mechanical designer Mamoru Nagano's anime version design, it features a slightly different style, with reduced head and chest proportions and widened shoulder breadth, giving it a more refined and cool impression. The outer pure white armor utilizes pearl white for a high-grade glossy finish. The articulated frame, made of alloy and other materials, features rich details such as pipelines, hydraulic rods, chest cockpit deployment, and leg armor deployment mechanisms, and uses a copper color to enhance the metallic texture.
The product also includes a large number of armament accessories, including wrist power launchers hidden inside the wrists, two sets of powerful power launchers that can be equipped on both wrists, energy cables for the powerful power launchers, a saber hilt, a twin-bladed saber hilt, saber beam effect parts, S-mines, a shield, a backpack thruster, the hover bike Daba rides into the cockpit, and various interchangeable hand parts. It even includes the strongest armament used in the final episode, the "Buster Launcher," boasting an impressive length of 33 cm, allowing you to recreate cool battle scenes with various armaments!
