Following the collaboration with popular Japanese sculptor Ryu Oyama on the "Baltan," Hong Kong toy brand threezero's new 'threezeroX' series, which partners with various artists, has once again unveiled its latest creation: the "Dark Baltan All Black Edition (Silhouette Version)" 1/6 scale articulated figure, available as a limited-edition exclusive at Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2023 (ACGHK 2023)!
Baltan (バルタン星人) is a classic antagonist in the "Ultraman" series, first appearing in episode 2 of the original Ultraman. Its design is based on the Cicada Human from "Ultra Q" (ウルトラQ), featuring a cicada-like head and giant, lobster-like claws. Baltan possesses a variety of abilities including possession, illusions, cloning, shedding its skin, freely changing its size, and firing freezing beams, earning it the moniker "Space Ninja." Dark Baltan is the latest form, appearing in the movie "Mega Monster Battle Ultra Galaxy The Movie."
Sculptor Ryu Oyama's reinterpretation of "threezeroX Ryu Oyama Dark Baltan" with his unique artistic style now returns in an all-black, silhouette version! This figure features a realistic, bio-mechanical, armor-like sculpt, with a full matte black paint application that creates a striking silhouette effect. Standing approximately 36 cm (14 inches) tall, it boasts 47 points of articulation throughout its body. The limbs are ingeniously designed with hidden joint mechanisms to maintain the integrity of the sculpt. It also includes interchangeable claws of different sizes (small left claw / two large right claws) for dynamic posing! The exclusive large claw is even inscribed with the Japanese text "原型制作 大山竜" (Sculpted by Ryu Oyama)! Furthermore, the eyes are equipped with built-in emerald green LED lights, adding to its mysterious aura.
