Transcending the Bounds of Time and Space, Inheriting the Universe's Extremes! Hasbro Transformers Generations "Legacy Evolution Series" Third Wave Unboxing Report

The "Transformers Generations" product line, launched by the internationally renowned toy manufacturer "Hasbro", entered the multiverse-spanning "Legacy Evolution" chapter in early 2023. Breaking away from the Generations line's previous singular focus on remaking G1 characters, the Legacy Evolution series expands its character selection to a broader and more open scope. It not only includes more popular characters from different stories and universes but also utilizes the latest technology for their design and interpretation. Whether you're a veteran collector looking to relive old memories or a newcomer just stepping into this realm, you're sure to discover your own fun within this series. This is also the greatest advantage that allows the Generations series to continuously innovate and develop sustainably!
As the successor to the "War For Cybertron Trilogy" and Legacy series, Legacy Evolution naturally inherits the excellent traditions of Generations. It boasts not only superb sculpts but also impressive articulation and transformation mechanisms that are irresistible. Before diving into the main unboxing, let's review the magnificent selling points of Legacy Evolution:

● More Characters from Across the Multiverse: Upholding the core principle of the Legacy series, Legacy Evolution incorporates popular characters from a wider array of stories. For instance, "Transformers: Micron Legend / Transformers: Armada" (超ロボット生命体トランスフォーマー マイクロン伝説/Transformers: Armada), the Japan-exclusive anime "Beast Wars II" (ビーストウォーズII 超生命体トランスフォーマー), "Transformers: Prime", and even the IDW comic universe, all contribute to the rich character diversity of this product line!
● Hyper-Evolved Weapons, Powerful Fusion: The highly acclaimed Weaponizers, a fan favorite from the War For Cybertron Trilogy, make a grand return! The Legacy Evolution series further introduces the new "Evo-Fusion" concept, enabling the combination of weapon parts. It also allows for interactive play using 3mm and 5mm ports, letting the returning Weaponizers disassemble and reassemble to provide other Transformers with enhanced firepower and armaments, while also challenging players' creativity and unique ingenuity.
● Reduced-Plastic Eco-Friendly Packaging: In response to current trends, the Legacy series adopted more environmentally friendly plastic-free packaging (excluding tape and adhesive parts), and the Legacy Evolution series continues this philosophy. Not only are the transparent plastic windows on the outer packaging removed, but the previous internal plastic bubble shells have also been replaced with plastic string and cardboard to secure the toy itself.
● Paperless Character Information: Unlike the previous method of printing on the back of the box, this series, like Legacy, utilizes a new QR code. After players scan the QR code printed on the top of the outer box, they can directly view the character's abilities and introduction on the official website, with different translations available depending on the region.

▼ The stars of this unboxing include three "Core Class" figures, four "Deluxe Class" figures, and two "Voyager Class" figures.

▼"Starscream", the Decepticons' second-in-command, an Air Commander whose boundless ambition is known to all. He leads the aerial "Seeker" squad to hunt down the Autobots, wholeheartedly anticipating the day Megatron (Megatron) falls so he can seize control of the Decepticon hegemony. This version is a repackaged re-release of the Kingdom Core Class figure. Friends who missed out before, don't let it slip away again!

▼The main body of the contents is the same as the previously released Kingdom version, so we won't elaborate on it here.

▼"Swoop" (also translated as "Feibiao"), a member of the G1 Dinobots (Dinonots) team, transforms into a robotic Pteranodon. He excels at leveraging his aerial combat advantages and reconnaissance skills, and also serves as an important communication link between the Dinobot team and the Autobots. This Legacy Evolution version has been remade as a mini Core Class figure, capable of freely transforming between Pteranodon and robot modes, and can also combine with his teammates to form the powerful Dinobot combiner "Volcanicus".

▼The robot mode adopts the most widely recognized G1 appearance, and the two weapons can be stored on the wings using their unique pegs.

▼The compact and exquisite Core Class figure can be said to be the most thorough application of ball joints in its design. With a little posing, it can achieve a great sense of dynamism, and the dual blasters can also be held directly in both hands.

▼In mechanical Pteranodon mode, although the transformation is not complex, this classic form can be perfectly reproduced in such a mini size.

▼Beyond robot and dinosaur modes, in combined mode, he becomes Volcanicus's powerful right arm component!

▼"Scarr" (originally named Skar), the sixth member of the Dinobots, first appeared as an original character in the IDW comic universe in 2013. He transforms into a robotic Ankylosaurus and is an excellent tactical medic within the team. This version is also made as a Core Class figure and possesses the ability to combine into Volcanicus.

▼In robot mode, details such as the head and chest faithfully recreate his appearance from the IDW comics.

▼Ball joints are also utilized throughout, increasing its poseability.

▼In robotic Ankylosaurus mode, it would be even better if the tail end truly had a small hammer.

▼In combined mode, he becomes Volcanicus's left arm. Now we just await the arrival of the final right leg, the Stegosaurus "Snarl"!

▼"Tarantulas" (also translated as "Wolf Spider," see note for details), a Predacon member from "Beast Wars" (formerly translated as "Baibian Jingang" in Taiwan), followed Megatron's ship to ancient Earth. He is a technical genius with a talent for modification and invention. However, hidden behind the guise of a mad scientist is his true identity—an undercover agent for the Tripredacus Council, not only monitoring Megatron's actions but also secretly guiding the direction of the war. This is a new packaging re-release of the second wave of the Legacy series. Toy collectors who missed out before shouldn't let themselves down again!
Note: The root of "Tarantulas" comes from the scientific name "Tarantula" (Theraphosidae), which is actually a different spider from the Lycosidae family (commonly known as Wolf spider). Therefore, the following text will continue to use the translation "Hong Zhizhu" (Red Spider) from when it was aired in Taiwan.

▼The toy body and accessories are identical to the previously released version, so we will not elaborate further in this unboxing.

▼"Devcon" (also translated as "Di Wushuang"), inspired by the G1 animation, is a cynical bounty hunter who always works alone, pursuing Decepticon members. This Legacy Evolution version is the second physical toy released since the 2014 Botcon exclusive. It was created by heavily retooling the Studio Series 86 Blurr, aiming to restore his dual robot and vehicle modes as depicted in the cartoon.

▼Robot mode. While hints of a fussy aesthetic are subtly visible, it must be said that this redesign is quite successful, finally offering a brand new option for fans who love this niche character.

▼The pair of red thrusters can be equipped on the back of the legs.

▼Utilizing all the joints throughout the body, it can still strike various passionate and dynamic poses!

▼It can also utilize the "Evolution Fusion" mechanism to combine with the rifle, instantly forming a more powerful weapon!

▼Vehicle mode. All three weapon parts can be mounted on the fuselage, recreating his spaceship form from the animation!

▼"Beachcomber & Paradise Parakeet", inspired by the G1 Autobot geologist, transforms into a dune buggy, a pacifist who loves to seek tranquility in his travels. This version is a completely new mold made in the Deluxe Class size, faithfully recreating both the robot and dune buggy modes from the animation. The included companion, Paradise Parakeet, is an extremely rare animal accessory in toy history, made of soft plastic, and can be attached to Beachcomber using a 5mm peg.

▼Robot mode faithfully reproduces the character's animated appearance. The included parrot friend can be attached to the shoulder using its peg.

▼Compared to the 2018 Legends Class, this Deluxe Class size allows for even more intricate details!

▼The articulation design is solid and standard. It's worth noting that the wrist joints are articulated!

▼Paradise Parakeet can also be attached to the arm. Perhaps it's time to learn from a certain princess and sing with animals for a heartfelt connection?

▼Vehicle mode, also faithfully recreating the dune buggy from the animation!

▼The weapon, which serves as a front bumper, can also be attached to the roll bar via a C-clip, transforming into a powerful machine gun!

▼"Axlegrease", an original Junkion from Legacy Evolution. Unlike other Junkions, she chose to join the Decepticon faction and become an agent of destruction. She can disguise herself as a tow truck with a mix of wasteland and punk styles, a retool of Legacy Evolution's first wave Scraphook. Therefore, she also possesses the Weaponizer ability, allowing her to be largely disassembled and become enhanced weaponry for other characters.

▼In robot mode, the main body has been changed to a more Decepticon-esque blue and purple color scheme in line with her character design, and the head sculpt has been refined with a more feminine silhouette.

▼In terms of weaponry, both the quantity and playability are quite diverse, making any combination incredibly fun.

▼The cool hook gun, significantly different from Scraphook's equipment, is also a weapon with a strong sense of aggression.

▼The engine rifle can also split into two, and the dual pistols are equally entertaining!

▼Vehicle mode, full of post-apocalyptic wasteland style, perfectly suited for these fighters striving for survival in the lower echelons.

▼If you compare her closely with Scraphook, you'll find that almost every part from the front of the vehicle all the way to the roof features newly designed components, making this a truly sincere retool!

▼Evolution Fusion! After disassembly, her parts can be combined and linked with other Transformers. That's right, it's another excellent material for showcasing incredible creativity by collecting multiples!

▼"Dirge", inspired by the G1 Decepticon Seeker member, who excels at using the unbearable fear generated by his engine's noise to torment enemies, finding joy in it. This Legacy Evolution version is a re-release of the Earthrise two-pack, with the main difference being that the main wings are now molded in plastic color rather than painted.

▼The biggest difference from the Starscream trio lies in his cone-shaped head, which is why he, along with his comrades Ramjet and Thrust, are known by fans as the Conehead trio.

▼This Seeker mold is considered one of the most complete designs in the current Generations line, making it not only fun to play with but also incredibly cool for display!

▼The articulation is also excellent, and when paired with a display stand, it truly showcases the power of its aerial superiority!

▼In vehicle mode, the unique wing design is also a highlight of the Coneheads, significantly different from the standard F-15s of the Starscream trio.

▼Perhaps we can look forward to a re-release of Ramjet; friends who accidentally missed the two-pack back then shouldn't let this opportunity slip away again!

▼"Nemesis Leo Prime", inspired by the clone of Lio Convoy who appeared in "Beast Wars II." He possesses all of the original's combat abilities and knowledge but lacks the most crucial element: humility. He later attempted to replace the original Lio Convoy and ultimately vanished when the cloning machine was destroyed. This version utilizes the previously released Legacy Evolution Lio Convoy, recolored to recreate the clone version from the anime, and includes the powerful Maximal Buster (サイバトロンバスター) which was not included with the original color version.

▼It's often said that when it comes to toy recolors, black always looks great. Just look at the various Nemesis Primes – it's hard to argue, isn't it? The toy's body and mechanisms are essentially the same as the earlier original color version, making it an excellent and worthwhile mold to play with.

▼The chest also features an opening compartment function.

▼The new Maximal Buster can also split into two mini pistols.

▼Black and green are arguably the essential colors for all Nemesis Primes throughout history, and they are certainly indispensable on him.

▼Whether as a rifle or the disassembled small guns, every pose can showcase Nemesis Leo Prime's combat prowess.

▼The "Lion Claws" located behind both arms can also be deployed!

▼Equipping the "Lio Missile" and "Lio Beam" all at once onto the lion head on the right shoulder looks incredibly imposing!

▼In beast mode, although the structure is identical to the original color, the dark color combination has a distinct flavor – fantastic!

▼The temporomandibular joint is articulated. It's worth noting the lion's eyes: unlike the original color version, the Nemesis version features the anime's "sparkling" eyes. Whether it looks good or not, I suppose that's subjective.

▼Do you like this recolored black berserk lion?

▼And that concludes this unboxing report for Transformers "Legacy Evolution." The super war spanning multiple universes continues to rage, so toy collectors, please make sure your wallets hold strong! See you in the next unboxing report!
