Japanese model maker CCP's high-end GK model product line, the "Phantom Ultimate Sculpting" series, in collaboration with sculptor Susuki Togeno, will launch its latest collaborative product based on the Netflix anime "Gamera -Rebirth-", titled "GAMERA-Rebirth-", with pre-orders scheduled to open in Winter 2023.
The popular kaiju Gamera, often compared to Godzilla in the history of Japanese tokusatsu, finally launched a brand new Netflix anime series after 17 years, "GAMERA -Rebirth-", bringing the long-dormant "Guardian of Children" back to life in the Reiwa era! The story is set in Tokyo in the summer of 1989, where four elementary school students witness the kaiju Gyaos attack Tokyo, turning the city into ruins... In despair, the giant turtle-shaped kaiju Gamera suddenly appears, and an intense kaiju summer unfolds!
The "Phantom Ultimate Sculpting" "CCP × Susuki Togeno GAMERA-Rebirth-" GK kit will measure approximately 30 cm upon completion. The currently revealed 3D prototype is sculpted by renowned kaiju sculptor Susuki Togeno, with all details referencing the Gamera CG data used in the anime, and infused with his meticulous sculpting that fully utilizes biological elements to enhance the kaiju's charm. It faithfully reproduces complex features such as its broad physique, thick limbs, and the concentric growth rings on its shell! As the guardian of children, the powerful sculpt particularly conveys Gamera's kindness and cuteness through its expression and posture.
