Updated October 16, 2023:
The Japanese manga "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," originally written by "Kanehito Yamada" and illustrated by "Tsukasa Abe," tells the story of the elven mage "Frieren" who, after a decade-long adventure with the human hero "Himmel," the dwarven warrior "Eisen," and the human priest "Heiter," returns as a hero. Frieren, who can live for thousands of years without aging, perceives the passage of time differently from mortals. However, after experiencing the deaths and aging of her companions, she begins to deeply understand the impermanence of life and regrets not having truly gotten to know others. Taking the death of the hero Himmel as a turning point, Frieren embarks once again on a journey to experience the meaning of life and time.
This time, in addition to Frieren, the figure also features Frieren's later disciple, the mage "Fern." Both are designed with a motif of floating mid-air. Frieren's white and gold-themed attire, red and gold staff, and her signature light purple twin tails and pointed ears are faithfully recreated, with her emerald eyes also excellently rendered. Fern, on the other hand, is sculpted in her 16-year-old, grown-up motherly state. Her long purple hair not only boasts a smooth visual effect and beautiful gradient colors, but also features her highly significant silver hair ornament, while the wooden staff she has used since childhood is intricately carved with realistic textures.
This Frieren and Fern set is presented in a form where both figures are independent but can be combined. The transparent crystal base is absolutely stunning! However, it's quite surprising that a separately sold LED light is required to achieve the sparkling visual effect!
▼ The bonus for purchasing the set is an acrylic standee of Frieren & Fern illustrated by "Reiko Nagasawa," who is responsible for the character designs of the "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" TV anime.
