Released by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the "RG (Real Grade)" Gunpla series, which incorporates exterior armor, internal frames, interlocking armor, and new technologies into 1/144 scale models, today announced the latest product from the theatrical film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM," the "RG 1/144 Force Impulse Gundam Spec II," scheduled for release on February 10, 2024.
The ZGMF-56E2 Force Impulse Gundam Spec II is a new mobile suit secretly recovered by the Eternal after the Impulse Gundam was severely damaged in the previous great war, then repaired and improved by Morgenroete with the latest technology. After replacing the energy system with new batteries, the color of the VPS armor becomes deeper when activated. It can also be wirelessly charged by the Hyper Deuterion Beam Supply System emitted from the ZGMF-X42S2 Destiny Gundam Spec II. The rest of its armaments remain largely unchanged, but it is capable of carrying the massive enhanced equipment "Tactical Striker M.E.T.E.O.R."
As expected, the Gunpla product "RG 1/144 Force Impulse Gundam Spec II" completely reuses the previously released regular version, "RG 1/144 Force Impulse Gundam." The only differences are a change in the part molding color and the inclusion of newly designed REALISTIC decals to reproduce the new version's markings.
The mobile suit's internal frame utilizes an integrated Advanced MS Joint frame, allowing for both flexible articulation and the recreation of the four-part separation and combination mechanism of the Chest Flyer, Leg Flyer, Core Splendor, and Force Silhouette. Each armor part also features the series' characteristic precise part separation, using multiple molding colors to express intricate details and layers. The forearms have independent movable axes, and the shoulder armor can rotate independently to reduce interference with articulation. The waist parts can transition from a locked state to a movable state, ensuring a wide range of motion. The legs are designed with an interlocking armor mechanism. Additionally, the shield's expansion and contraction mechanism and the Force Silhouette's movable wings are also faithfully reproduced.
