New Gundam Build Metaverse Gunpla Product: "HG 1/144 Beargguy Ohana & Aloha Haro Set" - Super Cute Hawaiian Style!

The HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. recently announced the latest product from the anime "Gundam Build Metaverse," the "HG 1/144 Beargguy Ohana & Aloha Haro Set," from the "HG (High Grade)" series of 1/144 scale Gunpla, known for its most diverse range of mobile suits. It is scheduled for release in February 2024.

The story of "Gundam Build Metaverse" is set in a new online service for the Gunpla world called "Metaverse." In this virtual space, users can explore with their avatars, interact with others, engage in Gunpla battles, and even purchase actual Gunpla products. The protagonist who arrives in this new world is a boy named Rio Hojo. Living in Hawaii, he is passionate about Gundam models. His created mobile suit, "Lah Gundam," is also influenced by his Japanese grandfather, incorporating elements of Japanese culture, samurai, ninja, and the sun that shines upon his home, Hawaii.

The Beargguy and Haro, which made brief appearances in the series, also incorporate Hawaiian elements. The Beargguy parent and child, named "OHANA (Family)," feature an ocean-like blue-green color scheme and are adorned with lei stickers, ukuleles, and other decorations. The large Beargguy can recreate expression changes, arm extension, and poses such as the large and small Beargguy holding hands or carrying each other, by swapping parts. Its ears and mouth also feature movable mechanisms. As for Aloha Haro, in addition to its name including a Hawaiian greeting, it is also given an ocean color scheme and new stickers full of Southern island charm.
