Japan's official Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, announced today that the latest limited-edition product from the anime "Gundam Build Metaverse," "ENTRY GRADE 1/144 Lah Gundam Prototype Unit 01," is scheduled to be released in stores starting November 2023.
In the past, GUNDAM BASE has released many limited Gunpla products designed with the store's corporate colors of blue and white, but most of these were special color schemes unrelated to the original story. However, this time, the protagonist mobile suit from "Gundam Build Metaverse," the Lah Gundam, features a limited color scheme that makes an appearance in the show itself. It is set as the "Prototype Unit 01" version, which was still in the adjustment phase during its initial production, featuring a low-visibility camouflage primarily in blue and white.
The "ENTRY GRADE 1/144 Lah Gundam Prototype Unit 01" is based on the regular version with modified molding colors. It inherits the refined parts composition and excellent color separation and part division design of the EG series' original Gundam. Features such as a low part count and simplified assembly process allow model beginners to complete assembly without tools or painting. Despite the low part count, it boasts flexible articulation comparable to HG grade kits. Its armaments differ from the completed version's beam naginata and other accessories, instead featuring the beam rifle, shield, beam saber, hyper bazooka, Gundam hammer, and beam javelin used by its prototype, the "RX-78-2 Gundam," allowing for dynamic battle poses.
