BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division, known for its diverse lineup of 1/144 scale Gunpla in the 'HG (High Grade)' series, has finally revealed the full product details for the previously announced mysterious large mobile suit from 'Gundam Build Metaverse', the "HG 1/144 Tifoeus Gundam Chimera". The product is scheduled for release on December 16, 2023.
The mysterious large Gunpla, the Tifoeus Gundam Chimera, is used in the series by "Mask Lady," another masked woman whose appearance resembles Mask Lady, and who is also Maria, the twin sister of Celia Leapyear. The main body, the Tifoeus Gundam, is based on the Raphael Gundam from the theatrical film 'Mobile Suit Gundam 00'. When combined with its external armor, it forms a gigantic silhouette reminiscent of the Psyco Gundam or Neo Zeong. When transformed into its MA (Mobile Armor) form, its overall outline resembles the 'Kutan Type-III' long-range transport booster from 'Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans'.
The "HG 1/144 Tifoeus Gundam Chimera" stands approximately 25.7 cm tall upon completion and features a transformation mechanism to recreate its MA form. The external armor can also be detached to display the Tifoeus Gundam in its standalone state. For its weaponry, the two smoothbore cannons mounted on its back have adjustable base angles. The arms and legs can be combined with connecting parts and single-core wires to recreate their firing states. The "Reflector BITs" concealed within the leg armor come with five types of stored state parts and five types of deployed state parts, allowing for dynamic display with the included dedicated stand.
