PLAMAX German Heavy Tank "Tiger I 1/12 Scale Assembly Model" Unveiled: A Massive 70cm Masterpiece with Hyper-Realistic Details!

Japanese model manufacturer Max Factory has announced the latest product from its highly popular and diverse assembly model brand 'PLAMAX': the tank-themed "Tiger I 1/12 Scale Assembly Model," slated for release in March 2024.

Commonly known as the Tiger Tank, the "Tiger I" was a heavy tank developed by Henschel for the German army during World War II. Its design concept differed from previous German tanks that prioritized a balance of mobility, armor, and firepower. Instead, it completely sacrificed mobility for thick armor and formidable firepower, featuring an impenetrable 100 mm thick frontal armor and the most powerful tank main gun of WWII, the "8.8 cm KwK 36 L/56 cannon." Although its power system was prone to damage, its armor and firepower alone were enough to strike fear into the Allied forces, even leading to "Tigerphobia" which significantly impacted morale.

Compared to the commonly seen 1/35 scale, this "PLAMAX Tiger I" is produced in a nearly 3 times larger 1/12 scale, boasting an impressive length of approximately 70 cm. The kit is molded in German Gray, representing an early production variant, meticulously reproducing details such as armor angles, power system intricacies, metal wire, and plastic external equipment. It features movable mechanisms including turret rotation, main gun elevation/depression adjustment, and opening/closing hatches. Some parts even depict weathering and battle damage for an aged appearance. The use of movable link tracks not only recreates intricate details but also provides a natural sag, significantly enhancing the model's realism.
