Bandai's "DX Chogokin" Series to Exhibit Latest Prototypes of Two New Mecha from "Macross 7" and "Macross Plus"!

BANDAI SPIRITS' collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced that its transforming alloy toy series "DX Chogokin" will exhibit new product prototypes from "Macross 7" and "Macross Plus" at the annual Tamashii Nations event, "TAMASHII NATION 2023," held on November 17, 2023.

The "Macross" series toys released under "DX Chogokin" feature precise sculpting that recreates the in-show designs, rich colors, and detailed fuselage markings. Some parts are made of alloy, providing a substantial feel when handled. The signature three-stage transformation mechanism of Macross Valkyries—FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID—can be fully reproduced without part swapping, thanks to the complete transformation system. Coupled with abundant accessories and flexible articulation, collectors can pose them in dynamic battle stances.

From the silhouette, it's clear that the new release from "Macross 7" is the "VF-19 Kai Fire Valkyrie" piloted by protagonist Basara Nekki. This unit was simultaneously exhibited in both "DX Chogokin" and "HI-METAL R" versions at last year's "TAMASHII NATION 2022," where the "DX Chogokin" version only revealed its FIGHTER mode. This year is expected to bring more information.

As for the new release from "Macross Plus," it is the previously announced brainwave-controlled fighter, the "YF-21 Swift". We can look forward to seeing how DX Chogokin will present its impressive "Limiter Release Mode" from the show.
