With official international IP authorization from the BAYC #9292 holder and Bayc Made By Apes, FILTER017® was invited to participate in the Phygital Street Fashion Web3 IP extension project "DARK FOREST," jointly initiated by Formosa Made (@formosamade) and the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC @boredapeyachtclub) #9292 project team. After nearly a year of meticulous preparation for mass production and overcoming manufacturing technical difficulties, the DARK FOREST Bored Ape themed capsule collection will be fully unveiled on the official FILTER017® channels and simultaneously launched across online and offline partner channels on November 4, 2023, the same day as the global annual Bored Ape BAYC event "ApeFest." This BAYC #9292 "Bored Ape" has been re-imagined and re-created by FILTER017® using their signature mixed-element vocabulary, while preserving the original characteristics. Taking the "Dark Forest Law" and anti-war themes as core inspiration, it reinterprets this Bored Ape as having no weapons (non-aggressive attack), subtly implying self-defense, careful cover and hiding, yet still being attacked and bruised.
The work carries significant contemporary meaning, cleverly paying homage to classic film elements such as Rise of The Planet of The Apes and Full Metal Jacket. Packaged with trendy, subcultural popular symbols and black humor, it interprets and reflects the current tumultuous era filled with conflict and a tense global situation. At the same time, it satirizes and pokes fun at the volatile ups and downs of the Web3 and NFT trends, hoping to further inspire mutual reflection. Whether it's people living under the threat of war or cryptocurrency investors, everyone is constantly uneasy, as if living in a pitch-black "dark forest" where they could become prey at any moment, and must constantly remind themselves to "BEWARE OF THE BEAST."
This time, FILTER017® has specially extended the visual and conceptual elements of this work into several limited-edition military-style themed capsule collections.
