BANDAI SPIRITS Company's HOBBY Division, which produces the robot model kit 'HG (High Grade)' series, recently announced that the latest product from the anime 'Armored Trooper VOTOMS', the 'Burglary Dog', is scheduled for release in May 2024.
The ATM-09DD Burglary Dog is a modified machine based on the Scopedog, piloted by protagonist Chirico Cuvie in the OVA 'Armored Trooper VOTOMS: The Heretic Saint', used to single-handedly break through the defense forces guarding the holy land. This machine underwent significant modifications, especially in the legs, adding a skateboard-like tread unit for rapid movement across rugged terrain, and each shoulder is equipped with a folding long-range cannon and a seven-tube missile launcher.
The 'HG Burglary Dog' is a modification of the previously released 'HG Scopedog' kit. The main body utilizes some new parts to recreate the distinct armor design, combining a sense of heavy armor with intricate internal details. It also retains features such as the triple rotary lens made with three-dimensional metallic stickers, a flexible body composed of multiple ball joints, and the retractable 'Armor Magnum' mechanism hidden in the lower arm.
The leg part separation design has been partially improved. The newly added tread unit and folding long-range cannon also feature deployment mechanisms, just like in the show. Additionally, the accessories include a set of interchangeable armor parts with multiple 3mm expansion ports, allowing for additional armaments to be mounted on the wrists, shins, rear skirt armor, and other locations.
