GOOD SMILE COMPANY of Japan has announced the latest product from the popular "Nendoroid" series, which boasts over a thousand different figures: the "Nendoroid Fern" articulated figure, based on "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End." It has a suggested retail price of 5,900 JPY and is scheduled for release in July 2024.
In the Japanese manga "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" (葬送のフリーレン), originally written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, Frieren's apprentice, Fern (フェルン), is a war orphan raised by Heiter, possessing a very calm and composed personality. Entrusted by Heiter, she travels with Frieren, caring for the somewhat lazy elf like a mother.
The "Nendoroid Fern" articulated figure stands approximately 10 cm tall, adorably recreating 16-year-old Fern, who has already become Frieren's "mom," in a Q-version style. Her purple long hair and understated black robe exude a composed charm. The figure includes three interchangeable face plates: her signature "Indifferent Face," a pouting "Disgruntled Face," and a "Scornful Face." She also comes with accessories such as her "Staff" (which she has used since childhood), "Magic Parts (Killing Magic)," a comb, and bread, allowing fans to recreate memorable scenes from the series! Additionally, the GOOD SMILE COMPANY bonus is a "Clothes-Dissolving Potion + Special Hand Part."
