Max Factory, a Japanese model manufacturer, recently announced the fourth product in its popular articulated figure series "figma", "SAMURAI", from illustrator neco's original work "FALSLANDER", slated for release in October 2024.
"FALSLANDER" is an original illustration series by illustrator neco, launched in July 2019. Continuing the "armed x girl" theme from previous series like "Heavy Weapon High School Girl" and "A-Z", it combines cold, hard "machinery" with delicate, endearing "beautiful girls," exuding charm through vivid contrast. This time, the character being brought to life as a figure is "SAMURAI", which neco unveiled in August 2019.
The "figma SAMURAI" is sculpted as an articulated figure with a total height of approximately 15 cm. Its jet-black attire and armor feature intricate detailing, blending traditional Japanese armor with modern tactical wear, while also sculpting SAMURAI's attractive body curves. The waist sash, worn on the side, is sewn from two types of fabric, printed with cool patterns on the surface and embedded with a shape-adjustable metal wire. When not equipped, it can be removed and replaced with a belt part.
The entire body utilizes figma series' original joint parts, offering a flexible range of articulation. Accessories include interchangeable "expressionless face," "glaring face," and "blushing face" parts, with the mask part also compatible with each expression. The right leg can be swapped between armored and unarmored versions. Both Japanese swords can be drawn from their sheaths and equipped in both hands, and can even be combined using a connecting part.
