Japan's toy and sundry goods manufacturer T-ARTS (Takara Tomy Arts Co., Ltd.) will release the latest product in its hide-and-seek themed gashapon series "MIIKKE! Mi~ikke!" in January 2024: "Where's Wally?" (ウォーリーをさがせ！)!
"Where's Wally?" is a children's book published in 1987 by British illustrator Martin Handford. The book has no explicit storyline; the protagonist, "Wally," almost always wears a red-and-white striped shirt and a bobble hat, along with round glasses and a walking stick. He travels constantly, traversing various locations around the world. Our task as readers is to find Wally amidst crowded, wonderfully bizarre scenes. To perfectly complete the mission in each world, you must not only find Wally but also diligently locate his dog Woof, Wenda, Wizard Whitebeard, the mischievous Odlaw, and various Wally-related items. It's incredibly fun.
This "MIIKKE! Mi~ikke! Where's Wally?" series brings these popular characters to life in 3-7 cm scale. In addition to faithfully recreating their outfits, the design cleverly captures them in poses as if peeking out. It's not just about modeling; it's about transforming the experience of playing while reading the book into a 3D reality. Place them behind a desk corner, next to a cabinet, or anywhere else you can imagine, and enjoy a real-life version of Where's Wally? with family and friends.
