BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan recently announced the latest product from the "AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline" model kit series, originating from the spin-off "AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline: Kyokko no Soki", the "HG 1/72 AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline Weapon Set 8", scheduled for release in April 2024.
The transport vehicle "Dreadnought" is an armed truck used by protagonist Jin Misawa to carry his dedicated machine, the "Kano Prototype". Compared to the more realistic design of the "Extra-Large Armored Special Transport Vehicle" used by Yatagarasu in the main "AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline" series, the Dreadnought's design is fundamentally born for model toys. It features incredibly thick exterior armor and numerous hardpoints for weapon attachments that might trigger trypophobia, allowing for the installation of various armaments such as Gatling guns, smoke grenade launchers, and more on multiple external points of the vehicle.
The "HG 1/72 AMAIM Warrior at the Borderline Weapon Set 8" product includes the "Dreadnought" along with weapon accessories such as Gatling cannons, missile launchers, and smoke grenade launchers. The vehicle body faithfully reproduces its thick exterior armor parts and rotatable tire parts. The side hatches of the rear cargo bed can deploy missile launchers outwards, just like in the setting. Not only can the missile launcher's cover open to reveal its internal missile structure, but trigger parts can also be attached to allow other units to equip it.
