BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced today the latest product from "Gundam Sentinel" for the "METAL ROBOT Damashii" series, which combines metallic texture painting and an alloy frame. The "(Ka signature) S Gundam Booster Unit Equipped Type" is scheduled for release in June 2024.
The MSA-0011 S Gundam from "Gundam Sentinel" is a prototype mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces concurrently with the ZZ Gundam. Its development goal was to create the "ultimate Gundam," a composite weapon system that surpasses existing mobile suits and weapon systems. The S Gundam is equipped with the artificial intelligence "ALICE," which not only assists pilot operation but is also expected to replace the pilot in the future to achieve "unmanned mobile suit" operation. Like the ZZ Gundam, the S Gundam also features a separable and combinable "Core Fighter System." However, the S Gundam can be further enhanced and expanded with different parts to suit mission requirements, allowing it to be equipped with a "Booster Unit" to transform into the highly mobile "Ex-S Gundam," or even become the monstrous "Deep Striker" type.
The "METAL ROBOT Damashii (Ka signature) S Gundam Booster Unit Equipped Type" is a revised version based on the one released in 2018, featuring a refreshed color scheme and re-released with the S Gundam main unit and booster unit included. This product is thoroughly supervised by renowned mechanical designer KATOKI HAJIME, faithfully reproducing the characteristic lines of the S Gundam, such as its massive shoulder armor, and the substantial large nozzle design of the booster unit. In terms of color, not only has the overall saturation been increased to more closely match the design artwork, but the issue of "alloy part coloring," which could not be achieved due to technical problems in 2018, has also been resolved this time.
The product allows for free transformation between two forms: "S Gundam" and "S Gundam Booster Unit Equipped Type." With its rich articulation throughout the body and armaments such as the Beam Smart Gun and Beam Saber, dynamic battle poses can be recreated. Additionally, the accessories include an adapter part that can be used with the separately sold "METAL ROBOT Damashii (Ka signature)
