The "S.H.MonsterArts" series, released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, today announced the latest product from the movie "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire," "Godzilla (2024)," scheduled for release in April 2024.
Set to premiere on March 29, 2024, "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" is the fifth film in Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse series. The story continues after the previous film, "Godzilla vs. Kong," delving deeper into the history and origins of the Titans, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and other hidden realms. From this, a new type of Titan, resembling an orangutan combined with Kong, is discovered, posing a severe threat to humanity's survival. Godzilla and Kong, who once battled each other, will now join forces to confront these new colossal threats.
The "S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla (2024)" is faithfully brought to life based on the CG data used in the film, with Japan's foremost Godzilla sculptor, Yuji Sakai, handling the sculpting, coloring, and product design. The entire body not only meticulously captures the details inside the mouth, the rough textures of the skin, and the dorsal fins, but also utilizes metallic blue paint to express the glowing blue effect of the eyes and dorsal fins.
The precise articulation part segmentation for the entire body was also handled by S.H.MonsterArts series renowned designer Mitsuhiko Hosokawa, providing a flexible range of motion without compromising the proportional sculpting. By utilizing the included interchangeable hand parts and atomic breath effect parts, collectors can recreate battle poses such as lunging at opponents with outstretched claws or unleashing a powerful atomic breath.
