The 'S.H.MonsterArts' series, released by Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Collectors Division TAMASHII NATIONS, which combines exquisite monster sculpting with outstanding articulation technology, today announced the latest product from the movie 'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire', 'Kong (2024)', scheduled for release in April 2024.
'Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire', set to premiere on March 29, 2024, is the fifth film in Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse series. Following the events of the previous film, 'Godzilla vs. Kong', the story delves deeper into the history and origins of the Titans, and the mysteries of Skull Island and other hidden realms. A new type of Titan, resembling an orangutan combined with Kong, is discovered, posing a severe threat to humanity's survival. Godzilla and Kong, who once battled each other, will now join forces to confront these new colossal threats.
The 'S.H.MonsterArts Kong (2024)' is based on the CG data used in the film, with Japanese animal sculptor Shinzen Takeuchi (SHINZEN Modeling Workshop) serving as the prototype creator. He meticulously sculpted details such as the bones, muscles, fur, and battle scars on the body. The head parts can be swapped for two different expressions. The precise articulation segmentation throughout the body was also handled by the renowned S.H.MonsterArts series designer Mitsuhiko Hosokawa, providing a flexible range of motion without compromising the figure's proportions. By utilizing the included interchangeable hand parts, battle axe, and other accessories, collectors can recreate various combat poses, including martial arts techniques and axe-wielding stances.
