Japanese model manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY's mecha-themed brand MECHA SMILE recently announced that it will release model products based on the new anime 'Brave Bang Bravern.' Detailed product plans have not yet been revealed.
The TV anime 'Brave Bang Bravern,' which premiered in January 2024, is a work that pays homage to the Brave series style, such as 'The Brave Fighter of Sun Fighbird' (勇者凱薩) to 'The King of Braves GaoGaiGar' (勇者王). Planned by Cygames and directed by renowned animator Masami Obari, it takes 'courage' as its theme but breaks away from the traditional Brave series style. It forcefully introduces super robots into a popular modern realistic robot worldview, delivering a new flavor that is impactful yet consistently passionate.
The story is set in a world where humanoid armored weapons called 'Titano Stride' are widespread. As various national armies gather on Oahu, Hawaii, for exercises, unknown giant enemies from outer space suddenly launch an attack on Earth. The top military technologies of all nations are powerless against the extraterrestrial technology, which is beyond their specifications. The protagonist, 'Isami Ao,' is on the verge of death while trying to save his surviving comrades. At this moment, the mysterious super robot 'BRAVERN' suddenly appears, allowing Isami to enter its cockpit. Alone, it effortlessly repels the invading alien forces with its extraordinary combat power.
Although MECHA SMILE has not yet revealed which product line will feature which unit, conventionally, super robot units like BRAVERN, which can combine or transform, are expected to be released under the 'THE GATTAI' series. Meanwhile, the realistic Titano Stride armored weapons from the show are anticipated to be released as 'MODEROID' plastic model kits. There's much to look forward to.
