Cute palm-sized charm! Megahouse, a subsidiary of Japan's BANDAI, will release a character product from the popular series "The Rising of the Shield Hero" as part of its palm-sized figure series "Melty Princess": a childhood version of the palm-sized "Raphtalia"! It is scheduled for release in late June 2024, priced at 8,800 JPY.
"The Rising of the Shield Hero" (盾の勇者の成り上がり) is a web novel fantasy series created by Japanese novelist Aneko Yusagi, which was later adapted into manga and anime. The story follows the protagonist, Naofumi Iwatani, a 20-year-old university student who, upon accidentally flipping through a book called "The Four Holy Weapons," is sucked into another world and becomes the "Shield Hero." Upon his initial arrival in this new world, he is framed and left without assistance. In this predicament, he purchases Raphtalia, a demi-human girl who still appears young, from a slave trader, commanding her to fight for him. After initial training, Raphtalia's appearance matures from a young girl into a lady. Understanding her master Naofumi's true nature, she declares her willingness to become Naofumi's sword, forever fighting and pledging loyalty to him.
This palm-sized Raphtalia from the Melty Princess series stands approximately 7.5 cm tall. She is sculpted in her younger, childhood form, wearing oversized clothes, sitting in a kneeling pose with her hands placed in front, and displaying an innocent and adorable expression. Details include the slave crest on her chest, her long hair and tail, and her cute exposed feet. When held in your hand, she appears even more endearing and lovable.
