Japanese gashapon toy manufacturer Kitan Club (株式会社キタンクラブ) will release a new product showcasing the beauty of Guanyin in late January: the "Senju Collection" (tentative translation, 千手コレクション)! The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, with a total of five designs.
This "Senju Collection" highlights the beauty of Guanyin's hands and the ritual objects (持物) among the Forty Hands of Senju Kannon. Each design features luxurious gold painting to convey a sacred and solemn visual effect, including the "Lotus Flower (蓮華)", the narrow-necked "Kundika (軍持)", the "Golden Wheel (金輪)", the "Five-Colored Clouds (五色雲)" also known as stacked colorful clouds, and the "Wish-Granting Jewel (寶珠)" held in the palm. In addition to the detailed sculpting of each ritual object, the expressive hand gestures of Guanyin are also a major highlight. With the included base, displaying them creates an aura as if an inviolable sacred realm has unfolded!
