Mattel Creations, the online sales platform of American toy company Mattel that collaborates with fan creators, has partnered with the trendsetting brand Off-White™, founded by the late fashion designer Virgil Abloh, to commemorate the brand's tenth anniversary. They specially launched four collector dolls in their popular Monster High series. Now, the final character in this series, 「Symphanee Midnight」, is set to arrive. The suggested retail price is US$150, and it is scheduled to go on sale on the Mattel Creations official website on March 13, 2024, at 09:00 AM US time!
Monster High is a fashion doll series launched by Mattel in 2010, created by Garrett Sander. The characters combine various mysterious creatures from monster movies, sci-fi horror, and thriller works. It received considerable acclaim for its departure from the typical fashion doll aesthetic and later saw adaptations into cartoons, movies, and live-action series.
The collaboration between Monster High and Off-White™ was one of Virgil Abloh's last projects before his passing. It features four collector dolls: 「Electra Melody」, 「Harmonie Ghoul」, 「Raven Rhapsody」, and the current 「Symphanee Midnight」. All dolls are based on actual Off-White™ apparel designs previously released, garnering significant attention from both the toy and fashion communities!
This 「Symphanee Midnight」 doll is dressed in the gown from Off-White™'s unofficial 2020 collaboration with outdoor brand Arc’Teryx, famously worn by Bella Hadid. She carries a green Jitney 1.4 handbag, and her ears are adorned with a nut earring on one side and an Allen earring on the other. The doll's body is made of green transparent soft plastic, encasing a skeletal structure, allowing her to command the powerful aura of this outfit with an extraordinary presence!
