The 'Figure-rise Standard Amplified' series, released by BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan, which amplifies the dynamic expression of characters through model kit specifications, today officially announced the latest product from 'Digimon', the 'Paildramon (Amplified Ver.)', scheduled for release on September 28, 2024.
Paildramon is a Dragon Man-type Perfect Digimon formed by the Jogress Evolution of Daisuke Motomiya and Ken Ichijouji's partner Digimon, XV-mon and Stingmon, from 'Digimon Adventure 02'. Its appearance resembles XV-mon's body covered by Stingmon's armor, combining the power of dragons with the strong defense and agility of insects. Its armaments incorporate modern mechanical elements; its twin claws can be launched as grappling hooks with ropes to entangle enemies, and its arm gauntlets are equipped with highly penetrating 'Stingers'. Its special move is the 'Desperado Blaster' that deploys from both sides of its waist.
The 'Figure-rise Standard Amplified Paildramon (Amplified Ver.)' features design supervision by As'Maria, a renowned illustrator for the Digimon series. It reinterprets the characteristic design of a fusion of biology and machinery. The entire body armor, originally featuring more curved surfaces, has been redesigned with sharp angles and incorporates the popular modern 'cracked armor' design, creating numerous gaps in the black armor that expose red internal structures, as if expressing the red muscles beneath the carapace with a mechanical texture. Furthermore, original designs that differ from the original work and enhance mechanical elements can be seen on the wing membranes, heels, and armaments.
The black parts are produced using GROSS INJECTION molding technology to achieve a metallic luster. The wing membranes of the two pairs of wings use PET film with printed patterns to express detailed textures. The tail features a multi-segment movable design with an embedded single-core wire, allowing for more flexible posing. The armaments, in addition to being more exaggerated in size, also incorporate many original mechanisms. While the original setting involved launching grappling claws, the Amplified Ver. changes this to launching the upper stinger connected by a single-core wire. The 'Desperado Blaster' features a barrel extension mechanism, and the two barrels can even be connected front-to-back to recreate an original combined form!
