Following the release of Kira Yamato and Lacus Clyne, the popular action figure series 'S.H.Figuarts', issued by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectors' toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has once again announced the confirmed commercialization of new products, 'Athrun Zala' and 'Shinn Asuka', from the theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM".
The theatrical anime film "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM", released nearly 20 years after the conclusion of the TV anime series, once again features Mitsuo Fukuda as the animation director. It utilizes a script left by his late wife, Chiaki Morosawa, to develop a brand new story set in C.E. 75, following the events of "SEED-D".
After the great war, the anti-Coordinator organization "Blue Cosmos" continues to incite conflicts worldwide. The formerly opposing Earth Alliance and P.L.A.N.T, along with the neutral nation Orb, jointly established the world peace monitoring organization "COMPASS". Lacus Clyne, the driving force behind ending the war, serves as its first president, and Kira Yamato and others, as members of the organization, travel across the globe to intervene in disputes. Against this backdrop, the emerging nation "Foundation", which seceded from the Eurasian Federation, proposed a joint operation plan to "COMPASS" to dispatch troops to the Blue Cosmos stronghold....
Athrun Zala and Shinn Asuka, whose commercialization has been announced this time, also fight alongside "COMPASS" to quell the ongoing conflicts. Piloting the "Infinite Justice Gundam Spec II" and "Destiny Gundam Spec II" respectively, they deliver spectacular combat performances no less impressive than Kira Yamato's. These two S.H.Figuarts action figures are crafted in their "COMPASS pilot suit" designs, worn while piloting their mobile suits.
