Japanese model manufacturer Kotobukiya has announced the latest plastic model kit product, "Great Baan Gaan," from the Japanese "Brave Series" robot anime "Brave Saga," slated for release in August 2024.
Unlike previous series such as "The King of Braves Gaogaigar," which received TV anime adaptations, "Brave Saga" is the ninth installment in the series but has only appeared in the "BRAVE SAGA" video game series. The Brave Robot in this work is an conscious life form, the "Holy Brave," who has fought against the evil "Nightmare" since the chaotic era before the birth of the universe. When the seal of evil is broken and revives in the modern age, the Creator of the Universe dispatches Baan, the leader of the Holy Braves, to Earth. With the assistance of Shunpei Serizawa, a boy who possesses the "Source of Courage," Baan unleashes his true power to combat the evil enemies threatening to destroy the world.
This product features Great Baan Gaan, the result of Baan Gaan's "Friendship Combination" with Sonic Speerion. Similar to previous Brave Series products, the transformation and combination mechanisms have been omitted to specialize in articulation. The entire body incorporates an articulated frame along with pull-out joints in the chest, shoulders, and legs, maximizing the powerful and cool styling and providing a wide range of motion. It can be posed in the signature battle stances of Brave Robots, utilizing the included various interchangeable hand parts and its iconic twin-headed spear weapon.
While the omission of the transformation and combination feature might be a slight drawback, the product still includes a set of interchangeable parts, allowing Great Baan Gaan to revert to its pre-combination "Baan Gaan" form, which can achieve even more agile poses than Great Baan Gaan.
