The soft vinyl figure series "Toho 30CM Series," produced by Japan's PLEX Co., Ltd. and distributed by X-PLUS Co., Ltd., which features Toho Tokusatsu monsters, recently announced the latest product from the Godzilla 70th Anniversary film "Godzilla Minus One," the "Godzilla (2023) Shonen RIC Limited Edition," scheduled for release in June 2024. This product is exclusively sold on the official online stores "Shonen RIC" and "GODZILLA STORE." The first wave of pre-orders is already full, with a second wave expected to open at a later date.
The Godzilla appearing in "Godzilla Minus One" was originally an ancient creature inhabiting the deep seas around Odo Island, locally known as "Gojira." Its body, resembling a carnivorous dinosaur, stood approximately 15 meters tall and possessed powerful regenerative abilities unusual for ordinary creatures; firearms could not harm it. In the late stages of World War II in 1945, it attacked the Japanese military invading its territory, causing significant casualties. However, in 1946, after the war, due to nuclear tests conducted by the US military near Bikini Atoll, Gojira mutated and grew into a 50-meter-tall Godzilla. Its exaggerated regenerative abilities allowed it to instantly recover even after being shelled by warships, and it could emit a high-power heat ray from its mouth, equivalent to a nuclear bomb.
The "Toho 30CM Series Godzilla (2023) Shonen RIC Limited Edition" presents the powerful massive body with a height of 33 cm and a length of 53 cm. It meticulously recreates the robust body resembling the Heisei series Godzilla, the rough skin like deep-sea coral reefs, and the sharp and massive coral-like dorsal fins. Through color application, it expresses the hard texture of the skin and the scars on its left face after rapid regeneration. The difference between the limited edition and the regular edition is that the entire row of dorsal fins is made of transparent material with blue paint application, which, when illuminated by external light, can display the glowing texture before firing its heat ray.
