The "Nendoroid Doll" series of chibi-style, low-body-proportion articulated figures, released by Japanese model manufacturer GOOD SMILE COMPANY, recently announced the latest product from "NieR:Automata Ver1.1a", "9S (YoRHa No.9 Type S)", scheduled for release in October 2024.
One of the three protagonists, "YoRHa No.9 Type S", unlike combat-type androids such as 2B and A2, is less adept at direct combat. Instead, he attacks enemies and supports allies through scanning, hacking, and other methods, often being dispatched to Earth alone for reconnaissance missions. 9S is fascinated by human culture and emotions, making him one of the few more emotionally expressive androids in the YoRHa squad. He behaves like a naive, gentle boy, but is also quite vulnerable. He harbors a profoundly special affection for 2B, having once entertained thoughts of wanting to △※2B. If he were to lose that partner, who is almost his reason for existence, he would surely go mad, caring nothing even if the world were to be destroyed...?
The "Nendoroid Doll 9S (YoRHa No.9 Type S)" is produced based on the anime version's design, featuring an articulated body with a taller stature and more joints than standard Nendoroid products. His characteristic two-piece outfit is meticulously sewn from fabric, delicately recreating details such as the golden buttons and the elaborate embroidery on the hem. Once the outfit is put on the body, it can be posed with various interchangeable hand parts to achieve dynamic combat stances. The head uses a common specification that allows for interchangeable parts with Nendoroid products, enabling the recreation of his unmasked appearance when combined with the separately sold "Nendoroid 9S (YoRHa No.9 Type S)".
