ROBOT SPIRITS "Gouf Flight Test Type Jaburo Base Specification ver. A.N.I.M.E." Recreates Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam Water Combat Scenes!

Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS company's collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS has announced the latest product from the "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam" series, the "Gouf Flight Test Type Jaburo Base Specification," joining its robot-themed articulated finished product "ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E." line, with an anticipated release in October 2024.

During the One Year War, to overcome the problem of insufficient atmospheric flight range for mobile suits, the Principality of Zeon military modified four YMS-07 Gouf prototypes into four test units capable of independent flight, the MS-07H Gouf Flight Test Type, by adding thermonuclear rocket engines to their legs to gain flight capability. However, after being sent to Earth for testing, problems emerged one by one, including excessive weight, insufficient fuel capacity leading to unstable airspeed, and inadequate range. Even after modifications addressing these issues and several experiments, development remained unsuccessful, ultimately leading to the decision to halt the development plan after a severe aerial explosion accident involving Unit 4. Years later, during the "Zeta Gundam" era, the Earth Federation Forces took over these units and made numerous improvements, including the use of mature "thermonuclear jet engines" in the legs. All four units were deployed at Jaburo Base.

The "ROBOT SPIRITS Gouf Flight Test Type Jaburo Base Specification ver. A.N.I.M.E." is a modification of the previously released standard specification. Its design faithfully reproduces the characteristic rear thrusters and thermonuclear jet engines, and the entire unit's color scheme has been changed to the deep blue tones seen in "Zeta Gundam." The articulation also features excellent joint design, allowing for various natural poses through the horizontal axis movement of the elbow joints, multi-axis movement of the chest and waist, the embedded structure of the armor behind the knee joints, and the articulated division of the skirt armor.

Its armaments include a "Giant Bazooka" that can reproduce its open/closed firing state through part swapping, and hand parts that recreate the "5-barrel 75mm Finger Vulcan" on its fingers. Furthermore, accessories also include effect parts that can reproduce the bazooka firing, the propulsion from the four rear nozzles, and water splashes from hovering on the water surface, allowing for more immersive battle scenes.
