Following the previous assembly model version, Japanese toy company Megahouse's "DESKTOP REAL McCOY" series, which specializes in bringing famous illustrations to life in three dimensions, will release a new high-quality EX version product based on the "SAND LAND" theme: the "SAND LAND King's Army Tank Corps No. 104" pre-painted figure. It will have a suggested retail price of 30,800 JPY and is scheduled for release in November 2024!
"SAND LAND" is a manga series by Akira Toriyama, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2000. In 2023, it was adapted into a theatrical film and a web anime released on streaming platforms. It tells the adventure story of the demon prince Beelzebub, the demon Thief, and the human sheriff Rao, who embark on a journey to find the "Phantom Spring" in a future where water resources are depleted and humans and demons coexist!
This "King's Army Tank Corps No. 104" pre-painted figure stands approximately 15 cm tall. The prototype references the manga spread from Chapter 3, where Beelzebub and his companions steal the King's Army tank and continue their journey. It faithfully recreates Beelzebub driving the tank, Thief watching from the side, and Rao leaning against the tank's side. Various details on the tank are meticulously sculpted, presented with outlines to evoke the manga style. The dust cloud effect rising from the base gives the tank a dynamic sense of speeding forward, with abundant details recreating this spectacular spread!
