Bandai Spirits' popular soft vinyl toy series, "MOVIE MONSTER Series," has announced its latest products based on the popular collaboration project "Godzilla vs. Evangelion": "Mechagodzilla (2002) Heavy Arms Type EVA Unit-01 Color Scheme" and "Mechagodzilla (2002) Heavy Arms Type EVA Unit-02 Color Scheme," slated for release in September 2024!
The Mechagodzilla that appeared in the 2002 film "Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla" was known in the story as Type-3 Kiryu (full name: Multi-purpose Fighting System Type-3 (MFS-3)). This time, based on its heavily armed form equipped with various weapons, it incorporates the iconic color schemes of Evangelion Unit-01 and Evangelion Unit-02 from "Neon Genesis Evangelion." The "Mechagodzilla (2002) Heavy Arms Type EVA Unit-01" and "Mechagodzilla (2002) Heavy Arms Type EVA Unit-02" kaiju soft vinyl figures stand approximately 16 cm tall and are 18.5 cm long. Although part of a more affordable soft vinyl model series, they meticulously capture the cool mechanical details across the entire body, and the intricate 0-Type Railgun on the arm, the large rocket launchers on the backpack unit, and other various armaments are also faithfully reproduced! The impressive metallic purple and fluorescent green of EVA Unit-01 highlight the details, while the bright metallic red of the EVA Unit-02 color scheme emphasizes a solid, heavy feel.
