Japanese Bandai Toys' affordable "Ultraman Monster Series" (ウルトラ怪獣シリーズ) soft vinyl toys recently announced three new products from the animated film ULTRAMAN: RISING, namely numbers 213, 214, and 215: "Emi" (エミ), "Gigantron" (ジャイガントロン), and "Neronga" (ネロンガ)! They are scheduled to be released starting July 6, 2024, with a suggested retail price of 880 JPY (tax included) each.
ULTRAMAN: RISING is an animated film co-produced by Industrial Light & Magic and Tsuburaya Productions, and distributed by Netflix. The story follows baseball superstar protagonist "Ken Sato," who is also this film's Ultraman. After defeating Gigantron (ジャイガントロン), he unexpectedly takes on the task of "raising a monster baby." This incredibly cute little monster, Emi (エミ), brings entirely new and difficult challenges to this new Ultraman. Ken, whose mission is to protect Earth and defeat monsters, now finds himself contemplating the meaning of being Ultraman while raising a monster.
Emi and Gigantron, clearly visible in the trailer, faithfully reproduce their pink and yellow body color schemes. Emi's plump body and fish-scale-like patterns are well-detailed. Gigantron, on the other hand, boasts a robust, adult-monster-like physique with shell-like structures and circular protrusions covering its body, complemented by substantial wings and dorsal fins, making its overall appearance truly impressive! Meanwhile, Neronga, the invisible monster known for "feeding on electricity," has become remarkably rounded in this iteration! Its tail and horns are significantly shortened, and its body is as round as a ball, making it burst with comedic charm.
