TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product in its transforming alloy toy "DX Chogokin" series: the "VF-31J Super Siegfried (Hayate's Machine) REVIVAL Ver." from "Macross Delta," slated for release in September 2024.
This product simultaneously includes the main unit of the "VF-31J Siegfried (Hayate's Machine)" released in 2016, as well as the "VF-31J Siegfried (Hayate's Machine) Super Parts Set" which was previously sold exclusively on PREMIUM BANDAI. Both are now making a reappearance together through general retail channels. Compared to the 2016 version, there are no changes in the overall accessories or design, apart from minor color variations due to different production batches.
The "DX Chogokin VF-31J Siegfried (Hayate's Machine)" is crafted with plastic and an alloy frame, boasting an impressive machine design with a large size of approximately 26 cm in height, complete color painting, and detailed marking prints across the entire unit. Utilizing various transformation and locking mechanisms, it can flawlessly reproduce its FIGHTER, GERWALK, and BATTROID forms without the need for part swapping. Coupled with armaments such as the combat knife and GUNPOD, a deployable cockpit and landing gear mechanism, and flexible joint designs throughout the body, it allows for dynamic posing of in-show combat stances.
The Super Parts Set includes various additional thrusters, supplementary armor, and missile pods with deployable hatches that reveal intricate internal missile details. Although these parts do not contain alloy material, metallic paint is used to convey a substantial texture in areas such as the nozzles. When attached to the VF-31J main unit, it forms the enhanced "Super Siegfried (Hayate's Machine)," capable of reproducing the Super Parts-equipped appearance in FIGHTER, GERWALK, or BATTROID forms.
