TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectible toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, recently announced the latest product from the "ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E." series, based on "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury," the "Demi Barding," slated for release in October 2024.
The MSJ-R122 Demi Barding is the latest model in the Demi series developed by Brion Corporation. In addition to inheriting the series' characteristic exterior design and excellent maintainability, it was also built with no expense spared to achieve higher specifications, featuring a large backpack that functions as both a wired drone weapon and a flight unit. Before mass production, a prototype was sent to Asticassia School of Technology for testing. However, before adjustments were complete, it encountered Norea Du Noc, who was piloting the Gundam Lfrith Thorn and causing indiscriminate destruction. In this crisis, the surviving students broke down the barriers between Earthians and Spacians, and Secilia Dote lent this mobile suit to Chu-Chu to pilot, engaging the Gundvolvas controlled by the Gundam Lfrith Thorn.
The "ROBOT SPIRITS Demi Barding ver. A.N.I.M.E." is crafted as a fully articulated figure approximately 12 cm tall. It faithfully reproduces the various pipelines, armor details, and the distinctive large backpack based on the anime design. It features the flexible articulation joint design cultivated over many years in the ROBOT SPIRITS series. The backpack can also be recreated in its separated state using cable parts, and the leg thrusters can rotate and slide up and down.
Equipped with accessories such as the large beam rifle, shield, and beam sabers, it can recreate its combat poses from the series. The forearm's peg and side auxiliary grip enhance its ability to hold the large beam rifle. When not in use, the beam saber hilts can be stored above the leg thrusters. Additionally, the product includes mini figures of Suletta and Miorine, allowing for the recreation of the scene where the two embrace and smile in space after the final battle.
