Japan's renowned toy store "Mamegyorai", which has previously released several master-level works, has now invited famous manga artist Junji Ito and renowned character sculptor Keiki Fujimoto to collaborate on a classic figure statue. This three-dimensional figure statue of "Kawakami Tomie", the protagonist from Junji Ito's work 《Tomie》, is scheduled for release in May 2025, priced at 37,400 JPY.

Fans of Junji Ito's manga works are certainly no strangers to the character "Tomie". 《Tomie》 can be said to be Junji Ito's breakthrough work. The protagonist, Kawakami Tomie, is a seemingly cold and alluring beauty, with fair skin, long hair, and a distinctive mole near her left eye. She possesses a unique charm and a demonic allure that drives many men mad. However, she also harbors a terrifyingly dictatorial, twisted, and cruel personality, often leading many to descend into madness or mutual slaughter because of her. Should anyone attempt to kill Tomie, they would discover that she is a terrifying entity that can never truly die and will continuously regenerate.
Such a unique character has left a deep impression on many readers. Beyond the manga, Tomie has also been adapted into live-action films and TV dramas multiple times, with numerous actresses portraying her, including the famous Miho Kanno, Mai Hosho, Miyu Nakamura, Yu Abiru, and Miki Sakai, among others. This demonstrates the remarkably high popularity of Tomie-related themes.
This Tomie figure, a collaboration between two masters commissioned by Mamegyorai, already holds unique and extraordinary significance. The exquisite craftsmanship of this product, overseen by these masters, is naturally beyond reproach. This Tomie stands approximately 27 cm tall, with its design primarily based on the Tomie illustrations drawn by Junji Ito. Tomie is depicted wearing a dark burgundy one-piece dress, her left hand playfully touching her signature long hair. The slight upturn of her lips and the gaze beside her beauty mark imbue her overall expression with a hint of malevolence.
Her white high heels rest upon a specially designed base, which depicts a grotesque, clump-like fusion of Tomie's own fragmented bodies, complete with bloodstains that have also stained her shoes, creating an atmosphere that is both eerie and terrifying. The statue perfectly captures Tomie's slender beauty, the flowing movement of her long hair and dress, and her unique aura of horror. This flawless combination makes it an absolute must-have collectible for Junji Ito fans.
