The robot-themed action figure series 'ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, today announced the commercialization of the new mobile suit "Gundam Mk-II (AEUG Specification)" from "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam". Release date is yet to be determined.

In Universal Century 0087, the Titans, an elite radical faction of the Earth Federation Forces advocating Earth supremacy, sought to assert their authority over the pro-space faction AEUG. They excluded engineers with Zeon backgrounds and appointed Camille's father, Franklin Bidan, to lead the development. This resulted in the "RX-178 Gundam Mk-II," a successor to the iconic "RX-78 Gundam" mobile suit that turned the tide of the One Year War. While possessing an extremely similar external appearance, the entire unit was constructed using the latest contemporary technology. Notably, the implementation of a "movable frame" significantly enhanced its mobility, expandability, and ease of maintenance. After the AEUG successfully seized two Gundam Mk-II units, it became the primary mobile suit for the protagonist, Kamille Bidan, in the early stages of the conflict.

The "ROBOT SPIRITS Gundam Mk-II (AEUG Specification) ver. A.N.I.M.E." reworks the previously released jet-black Titans Specification into the AEUG's gray and white armor color scheme. The overall design is based on Kunio Okawara's anime setting illustrations, featuring a refined armor aesthetic and flexible articulation design. It can faithfully reproduce iconic poses from the setting art, such as the forward body bend, head tilt, and raised shoulders. The knee armor also incorporates a frame-interlocking mechanism for natural movement. More detailed product information is expected to be announced at a later date.
