The battle for gold! Japan's GOOD SMILE COMPANY's affordable PVC painted finished product series, "POP UP PARADE", is scheduled to release a PVC figure of the protagonist, "Saichi Sugimoto", from the popular series "Golden Kamuy" in October 2024, priced at 5,500 JPY.
"Golden Kamuy" (ゴールデンカムイ) was created by Japanese manga artist Satoru Noda, serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" starting in 2014, and concluded in 2022. In addition to its anime adaptation, a live-action film was released in January 2024, and audiences in Taiwan can enjoy the film via NETFLIX in May.
The story primarily follows the protagonist, Saichi Sugimoto, nicknamed "Immortal Sugimoto," who, after retiring from the military, travels to Hokkaido to cure his friend's wife's illness. There, he forms a bond with the Ainu girl Asirpa and learns of rumors of a massive gold treasure. The two embark on a journey together, later encountering a group including the escaped convict Yoshitake Shiraishi, initiating an unprecedented battle for gold.
This POP UP PARADE Saichi Sugimoto figure faithfully recreates his appearance from the anime. The scars on Sugimoto's face are his trademark, and his resolute gaze paired with a slight smile, along with his handsome and sharp military uniform, make him look incredibly cool. The long rifle he skillfully carries on his right shoulder, the accessory belt pouch he wears, and the scarf around his neck are all meticulously reproduced. Standing approximately 20 cm tall, fans of Golden Kamuy may consider adding this to their collection.
