Danish LEGO toy company yesterday (6th) announced the latest product in its "Ideas" series, the "21349 Tuxedo Cat"! It is expected to be released on June 1, 2024, with a suggested retail price of US$99.99, and a selling price of NT$3,699 at authorized LEGO specialty stores in Taiwan.
This "Tuxedo Cat" features 1710 pieces and stands approximately 32 cm tall when assembled. Its original concept was submitted to LEGO Ideas by LEGO fan Damian Andres under the name The Yellow Brick, titled "Cat". After commercialization, the cat's breed was changed. I personally believe that changing it to a Tuxedo Cat will resonate more with a wider audience of cat owners, but it's a bit of a shame that Damian Andres' original designs for the "bowl of milk" and "fishbone" are gone!
Aside from the fur color, this model largely remains faithful to Damian Andres' original design in terms of its shape, especially the adorable white tuft of fur at the tip of the tail. Once assembled, you can rotate the head, adjust the ears, and enhance its expressiveness with interchangeable eye and mouth pieces. The visual effect of it placed by the window in the official images is truly excellent. I'm incredibly curious to see how a real cat would react to this LEGO Tuxedo Cat!
