Within the "Figuarts ZERO" non-articulated figure brand, released by BANDAI SPIRITS Company's collector's toy division TAMASHII NATIONS in Japan, the "EXTRA BATTLE" series, which recreates characters in the midst of performing their signature moves, has announced its latest product from "Dragon Ball Z": the "Super Saiyan 2 Son Gohan -Destructive True Power!!-" (tentative title) pre-painted figure! The suggested retail price is 13,200 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in November 2024.
In the Cell Games saga of "Dragon Ball Z," Goku sent his son Gohan to fight Cell. The peace-loving Gohan, disliking battle, couldn't unleash his full power and was brutally beaten by Cell. To witness Gohan's true strength, Cell spawned Cell Juniors to attack the Dragon Ball warriors and mercilessly crushed Android 16's head in front of Gohan. Enraged, Gohan finally awakened and transformed into Super Saiyan 2, unleashing immense power that allowed him to instantly annihilate all the Cell Juniors....
The "Figuarts ZERO [EXTRA BATTLE] Super Saiyan 2 Son Gohan -Destructive True Power!!-" (tentative title) pre-painted figure stands approximately 20 cm tall. It faithfully recreates Gohan's spiky, enraged hairstyle after transforming into Super Saiyan 2, with lightning-shaped transparent effect parts surrounding his entire body. The smoke effect on the base further enhances the aura of his awakening! It vividly depicts Gohan snatching back a Senzu Bean with one hand and swiftly defeating Cell Jr. with the other, with the slashing effect from his hand adding even more impact! The deformed, miniaturized Cell Juniors behind him create a visual effect of foreground and background, building a unique sense of depth. The battle damage on Gohan's body, the texture of his clothing, and his furious expression are meticulously reproduced, thoroughly bringing the scene from the series to life!
