The highly popular character model kit series "Figure-rise Standard," released by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., has officially announced detailed information for its latest product from "Ultraman Tiga," the "Ultraman Tiga Multi Type." It is scheduled for release in October 2024.
In its lore, Ultraman Tiga is an ancient "Giant of Light" who protected Earth 30 million years ago. After defeating the dark demon, his body transformed into a stone statue, slumbering in a pyramid deep in the mountains. It wasn't until 30 million years later that he merged with GUTS member Daigo Madoka to once again confront the dark evil god GATANOTHOR, who sought to destroy civilization. This work was the first to introduce the concept of form changes, allowing Tiga to switch between the Multi Type, which balances power and speed; the Sky Type, specialized in speed and technique; and the Power Type, specialized in strength and resilience.
The "Figure-rise Standard Ultraman Tiga Multi Type" is the series' first Ultraman product that does not require stickers for color correction, being composed solely of multi-colored molded parts. This includes the silver, blue, and red colors across the entire body, the golden parts on the chest, the Color Timer, and the clear crystal on the forehead, all faithfully reproduced using molded part colors.
Thanks to the articulated joint design of the torso and limbs, it can recreate significant forward and backward leaning of the upper body, as well as various cool combat poses. Furthermore, the embedded mechanism for the dorsal fin at the back of the neck enhances the upward head tilt, allowing for the recreation of classic appearance poses. Accessories include four pairs of interchangeable hand parts, blue and red Color Timers, and effect parts to recreate the charging and firing scenes of his signature move, the "Zeperion Beam."
