In early 2024, the Danish LEGO toy company unveiled the brick-built model of R2-D2 (set number 75379) from the sci-fi epic Star Wars. Finally! R2's trusty droid companion, "C-3PO," will also be released as a beautifully detailed brick-built model, set number 75398! It is scheduled for release on August 1, 2024.
This set contains a total of 1138 pieces. Once assembled, C-3PO stands at a height of 38 centimeters (including the base). A large number of golden-yellow pieces of varying curves and shapes are used to construct most of C-3PO's mechanical shell. The right leg is built with silver pieces, consistent with its appearance in the movie "A New Hope." The head's accuracy is remarkably high; the depiction of the eyes and the use of ring pieces around the neck are personal favorites of the editor. The exposed wires on the abdomen appear to be represented by stickers. According to the information on the packaging box, LEGO C-3PO's arms and head will also be rotatable.
In addition to the C-3PO brick-built model itself, the product also includes a C-3PO minifigure, an information plaque, and a commemorative piece celebrating the 25th anniversary of the "LEGO Star Wars" series. The base evokes the desert terrain of Tatooine.
