Hong Kong toy manufacturer threezero's "ROBO-DOU" (ロボ道) series, known for its highly detailed and complex designs based on Japanese anime alloy mecha, is once again launching a new product under the "Voltron: Defender of the Universe" theme – the "Voltron (Black x Gold Edition)" non-scale articulated figure, slated for release in Q3 2024!
"Voltron: Defender of the Universe" is a television animated series produced in 1984 by World Events Productions (WEP) from the United States, which adapted and combined two mecha anime produced by Toei Japan: "Beast King GoLion" (百獣王ゴライオン) and "Armored Fleet Dairugger XV" (機甲艦隊ダイラガーXV). The entire series, comprising 124 episodes, tells the story of five Earth youths who form an alliance with five mechanical lions to create the Space Defense Force, combining to become the mighty robot giant "Voltron" and protecting peace in the universe.
This "Voltron (Black x Gold Edition)" non-scale articulated figure is a modification of the previously released original "Beast King GoLion / Voltron", retaining the classic playability of the series, allowing the five lion mecha to combine into the Voltron form. The entire figure is die-cast using ROBO-DOU's engineering techniques, with some joints made from zinc alloy and metal parts. Once assembled, it boasts 124 points of articulation, offering a wider range of motion and superior assembly functionality! The new black and gold variant color scheme runs through all five lions and the combined Voltron form, exuding an aura with a touch of villainous charm. Paired with accessories like the Blazing Sword and each of the five lions' individual weapons, it showcases the powerful presence of this special color version!
