American toy brand NECA's "Toony Classics" series, which produces cartoon-style 6-inch action figures, has launched two new products based on "Sesame Street" – "Ernie" and "Bert." The suggested retail price is US$17.99, and they are expected to be released in October 2024!
Making their debut at NECA from "Sesame Street" are two popular puppet characters – Ernie and Bert! Ernie and Bert are good friends who live together in the basement apartment at 123 Sesame Street. Ernie often plays pranks on Bert, and even though they have completely different characteristics, they remain great friends. Over the years, their close relationship has led some viewers to speculate that they are a gay couple. While there is no clear official statement, the various fan discussions and fan creations are still very interesting!
The Ernie and Bert 6-inch action figures released this time are crafted in their classic television appearances, with cartoonish, simple lines sculpting their character features. Flat painting techniques are used to recreate Ernie's striped sweater and Bert's vertically striped knit shirt.
