Japan's MEDICOM TOY company's non-articulated figure collection "PPP" (PERFECT POSING PRODUCTS) series has launched a new product based on the popular anime "Oshi no Ko" – the "Ai Hoshino" 1/8 scale pre-painted figure. The suggested retail price is 22,000 JPY, with an estimated release in March 2025!
"Oshi no Ko" is a Japanese manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. In 2023, it was adapted into an anime series by Doga Kobo. The story follows Gorou Amemiya, an obstetrician working in a rural area, who unexpectedly becomes the attending physician for his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino. However, he is murdered before Ai gives birth and is reincarnated as one of her twins. Tragically, Ai is assassinated at her home one day, and as the twins grow up, they slowly uncover the truth behind Ai's murder.
This Ai Hoshino 1/8 scale pre-painted figure stands approximately 20 cm tall. It captures Ai in her B-Komachi idol outfit, depicting her performing on stage with a headset. The figure meticulously sculpts her flowing hair, skirt, and the wrinkles in her performance attire. Her hands are extended forward in a peace sign, and her captivating smile is faithfully reproduced. The paint application also recreates the pink-purple gradient of her hair, showcasing Ai's enchanting charm as a top idol through her dynamic and light pose!
