TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., today announced the latest product from the 'ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.' series of robot-themed articulated figures, the 'Duel Gundam Assault Shroud', slated for release in December 2024, originating from "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED".
The GAT-X102 Duel Gundam was one of five GAT series mobile suits secretly developed by the Atlantic Federation in Heliopolis. It was later successfully seized by the Z.A.F.T. military and piloted by elite pilot Yzak Joule. In addition to its PS armor, which effectively resists solid projectile attacks, it can also utilize most Earth Alliance standard-issue weapons. As it was the earliest developed among the five units, it did not possess significantly superior performance compared to the other four Gundams. However, Z.A.F.T. subsequently developed the enhanced equipment, the 'Assault Shroud', for it, adding heavy armor, missiles, railguns, and other solid projectile weaponry across its entire body.
The 'ROBOT SPIRITS Duel Gundam Assault Shroud ver. A.N.I.M.E.' is a modification of the previously released Duel Gundam, utilizing numerous new parts to faithfully recreate the detachable additional armor and thrusters across its entire body, boasting a refined design true to its anime depiction. By swapping certain parts, it can switch between two forms while maintaining a flexible range of articulation.
Regarding weaponry, in addition to the beam rifle, beam saber, and shield, both shoulders are equipped with a '5-tube missile pod' and a 'railgun', both featuring articulated and deployable mechanisms. Furthermore, the beam rifle and railgun each come with firing effect parts, allowing for dynamic simultaneous firing poses from the series. It can also be combined with the separately sold 'Aile Strike Gundam' and 'Buster Gundam' to recreate iconic scenes from the show.
