Japanese toy company FREEing (フリーイング), known for creating large-scale figures that exude immense charm, recently announced a new product from the popular naval battle mobile game "Azur Lane": the "Ayanami Dynamic Kick-Off" (あやなみ ダイナミック・キックオフ) 1/7 scale pre-painted PVC figure! It is scheduled for release in January 2025, with a suggested retail price of 26,400 JPY (tax included).
In the "Azur Lane" setting, Ayanami is an SR Destroyer belonging to the Sakura Empire faction, and one of the "Starter Trio" characters available from the beginning of the game (the other two being Javelin and Laffey). After her retrofit, her torpedo power reaches S-tier, making her a crucial ship in a romantic manual torpedo burst fleet. She is also known as the "Demon God of Solomon" and enjoys considerable popularity! Her default in-game illustration depicts a girl in a sailor uniform with two mechanical horns on her head. While she doesn't often show emotional fluctuations, making it hard to tell what she's thinking, Ayanami is actually a frank and considerate good child.
This Ayanami figure, crafted based on her "Dynamic Kick-Off!" outfit from the "Journey of the Brave" theme, stands approximately 15 cm tall. It faithfully recreates her mid-air pose as a fighter in the brave squad, unleashing a full-power flying kick, perfectly embodying Ayanami's famous quote: "My body is my strongest weapon!" The figure sculpts Ayanami's slender yet firm physique and delicately captures her flowing, dynamic long hair, while retaining the elements of the two mechanical horns on her head. The striking blue effect parts, which are the finishing touch, are rendered with beautiful gradient colors, contributing significantly to both supporting Ayanami's body and enhancing the figure's dynamic presence.
